What is Social Entrepreneurship?

A social entrepreneur is a person who uses a for-profit business model to solve social issues. Social entrepreneurs take into account (and measure) their impact on society as well as profit and return. They have a clear sense of a social mission- what difference they are going to make or who they are going to help. Social enterprises and entrepreneurs vary in many ways and forms but all aim a double impact: Societal or environmental well-being and profit. This allows them to scale.
